Abstract
The present invention relates to polynucleotide sequences in gene arrays that function as markers of photodamage and a personal care method of detecting photodamage using the markers.
Claims6
A personal care method of detecting photodamage comprising the steps of:
- (A) using at least one marker of photodamage, the marker selected from one or more sequences selected from the group consisting of:
- sequence No. 70, sequence No. 71, sequence No. 72, sequence No. 73, sequence No. 74, sequence No. 75, sequence No. 76, sequence No. 77, sequence No. 78, sequence No. 79, sequence No. 80, sequence No. 81, sequence No. 82, sequence No. 83, and sequence No. 84;
- and
- (b) detecting a change in the marker to determine the presence of photodamage.

A personal care method for detecting a skin condition in an epidermal or dermal or total skin sample, the method comprising the steps of:
- a) determining a first gene expression of a predetermined skin sample having a known skin condition;
- b) determining a second gene expression of a second predetermined skin sample having no known skin condition;
- and
- c) identifying a plurality of markers of a change in the first and second gene expressions, so that the plurality of markers identify the known skin condition.
