Abstract
A method and system for selectively staining dental composite materials includes an applicator (104) and a disclosing agent (102). In one embodiment, the applicator (104) provides the disclosing agent (102) to a tooth surface and a composite filling of the tooth. The composite filling is selectively stained to reveal the presence and location of the composite filling. In another embodiment, the tooth surface is selectively stained to reveal the presence and location of the composite filling.
Claims13
A system of dental restoration for a tooth comprising:
- a composite material snugly bonded to the tooth;
- a disclosing agent for staining the composite material;
- and
- an applicator configured to receive and to deliver the disclosing agent, the applicator for applying the disclosing agent to a surface of the composite material.
A kit for identifying a dental composite material, the kit comprising:
- a disclosing agent that distinguishes a composite material from a tooth;
- and
- instructions for use comprising delivering the disclosing agent onto the tooth and composite material so as to distinguish the composite material from the tooth.
