Abstract
Compositions and methods for prevention and treatment of uncontrolled formation of intravascular fibrin clots are provided wherein fibrinolytic or anticoagulant drugs are biocompatibly coupled to red blood cell carriers.
Claims9
A composition comprising a fibrinolytic or anticoagulant drug biocompatibly coupled to a red blood cell carrier.
A composition comprising biotinylated plasminogen activator or biotinylated receptor for plasminogen activator precursor cross-linked monovalently to a biotinylated red blood cell carrier via streptavidin.
A composition comprising biotinylated plasminogen activator or biotinylated receptor for plasminogen activator precursor conjugated with a biotinylated monoclonal antibody specific for red blood cells via streptavidin.
A method for minimizing potential hazardous interactions of urokinase with endothelial cells and activating a precursor form of urokinase in blood comprising contacting said inactive urokinase in blood with a composition comprising a soluble form of urokinase receptor biocompatibly coupled to a red blood cell carrier.
A method for increasing pulmonary uptake of tissue plasminogen activator which comprises crosslinking of biotinylated tissue plasminogen activator to a biotinylated red blood cell or a biotinylated monoclonal antibody specific for red blood cells via streptavidin and administering said crosslinked tissue plasminogen activator to an animal.
