Abstract
In order to provide a developing device and a process cartridge that are capable of preventing leakage of developer at low cost, for example, a developing device comprises: a container, having an opening, for containing a developer; a developer carrying member, rotatably disposed in the opening, for carrying developer; and a developer collecting member mounted to the opening of the container so as to be kept out of contact with the developer carrying member.

A developing device comprising:
- a container, having an opening, for containing a developer;
- a developer carrying member, rotatably disposed in the opening, for carrying the developer;
- and
- a developer collecting member mounted at the opening of said container so as to be kept out of contact with said developer carrying member.

A process cartridge detachably mountable on an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- an image bearing member;
- a container, having an opening, for containing a developer;
- a developer carrying member, rotatably disposed in the opening, for carrying developer;
- and
- a developer collecting member disposed at the opening of said container so as to be kept out of contact with said developer carrying member and said image bearing member.
