Abstract
Polyalkylphenoxyaminoalkanes having the formula: 1 and fuel-soluble salts thereof, wherein R is a polyalkyl group having an average molecular weight in the range of about 600 to 5,000; and R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or lower alkyl having about 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The compounds of the present invention are useful as fuel additives for the prevention and control of engine deposits.
Claims35
A compound of the formula:
- 9
- and fuel-soluble salts thereof, wherein
- R is a polyalkyl group having an average molecular weight range of about 600 to 5,000;
- and
- R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or lower alkyl having about 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
A fuel composition comprising a major amount of hydrocarbons boiling in the gasoline or diesel range and an effective deposit-controlling amount of a compound of the formula:
- 10
- and fuel-soluble salts thereof, wherein
- R is a polyalkyl group having an average molecular weight range of about 600 to 5,000;
- and
- R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or lower alkyl having about 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
A fuel concentrate comprising an inert stable oleophilic organic solvent boiling in the range of from about 150° F. to 400° F. and from about 10 to 70 weight percent of a compound of the formula:
- 11
- and fuel-soluble salts thereof, wherein
