A method is described for monitoring wheel speeds having the steps: determining the wheel speeds (S01), determining the wheel having the maximum wheel speed (S02), determining the wheel having the minimum wheel speed (S03), determining the differential speed between the maximum wheel speed and the minimum wheel speed (S04), and comparing the differential speed to a threshold value (S05), if the differential speed is greater than a threshold value, the wheel having the maximum wheel speed being registered as the fastest wheel (S07) and the wheel having the minimum wheel speed being registered as the slowest wheel (S08), in event of a change of the wheel speeds, so that another with wheel is the fastest wheel and/or another wheel is the slowest wheel, the fastest wheel being registered (S09) and the slowest wheel being registered (S10) and a logical status being established from the registered values and the instantaneous values (S11-S21). A device for monitoring wheel speeds is also described.
A method for monitoring wheel speeds comprising the following steps:
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein status 2 is recognized (S18) if the slowest wheel has changed exactly once and the fastest wheel has changed exactly once.
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein status 3 is recognized (S12) if the slowest wheel has not changed and if the fastest wheel has not changed.
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein an error counter is decremented in event of the status 0 (S21).
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein an error counter is incremented by 2 in the event of status 1 and status 3 (S13, S16).
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein an error counter is incremented by 1 in the event of status 2 (S19).
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein the wheel speeds are determined from rotational speed sensor signals and additional sensor signals (Sol).
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein the differential speed is compared to a relative threshold value (S05).
The method as recited in one of the preceding claims, wherein, below a speed threshold, the differential speed is compared to an absolute threshold value (S05).
