Abstract
The present invention relates to nucleic acid molecules that modulate Hepatitis B virus (HBV) gene expression and HBV replication, and methods thereof. Specifically, the present invention relates to nucleic acid decoy molecules and aptamers that bind to HBV reverse transcriptase and/or HBV reverse transcriptase primer sequences and methods for their use alone or in combination with other therapies. The present invention also relates to nucleic acid molecules that specifically bind the Enhancer I region of HBV DNA and methods for their use.
Claims29
A nucleic acid molecule that specifically binds the hepatitis B virus (HBV) reverse transcriptase primer, wherein said nucleic acid molecule comprises the sequence (UUCA)n, wherein n is an integer from 1 to 10.
A nucleic acid molecule that specifically binds the hepatitis B virus (HBV) reverse transcriptase primer, wherein said nucleic acid molecule comprises any of SEQ ID NOs:
- 1-79, 81, 83, 85, 87, 89, 91, 93, 97, 99, 101, 103, 105, 107, 109, and 111.
A nucleic acid molecule that specifically binds to the Enhancer I sequence of HBV DNA.
A nucleic acid molecule that specifically binds to the Enhancer I region of HBV DNA, wherein said nucleic acid molecule comprises any of SEQ ID NOs:
- 113, 116, 118, 120, 121, 124, 126, and 128.
