Abstract
Method and system for the planning and/or evaluation of downlink coverage in a (CDMA) radio network. The service area of the radio network can be divided into pixels defined (a) by the grid (1), and cells (2) can be assigned (b) to the pixels. After assigning (c) the pilot power (3), the desired downlink transmission power (4) can be estimated (d) for the cell (2), which can be compared (e) to the maximum transmission power (5) of the base station. If needed changes in the radio network can be made and the planning and/or evaluation is restarted.

Method for the planning and/or evaluation of a downlink coverage in a radio network comprising one or more service areas, each service area comprising at least one base station defining at least one cell, the method comprising the steps of
- defining (a) a grid (1) on the one or more service areas;
- assigning (b) the at least one cell (2) to pixels defined by the grid (1);
- assigning (c) a pilot power (3) to the at least one cell (2);
- estimating (d) a desired downlink transmission power (4) for the at least one cell (2);
- comparing (e) the desired downlink transmission power (4) to a maximum transmission power (5) of the one or more base station.
System for the planning and/or evaluation of a downlink coverage in a radio network comprising one or more service areas, each service area comprising at least one base station defining at least one cell, the system comprising
- means for defining (a) a grid (1) on the one or more service areas;
- means for assigning (b) the at least one cell (2) to pixels defined by the grid (1);
- means for assigning (c) a pilot power (3) to the at least one cell (2);
- means for estimating (d) a desired downlink transmission power (4) for the at least one cell (2);
- means for comparing (e) the desired downlink transmission power (4) to a maximum transmission power (5) of the one or more base station.
Computer program for the planning and/or evaluation of a downlink coverage in a radio network comprising one or more service areas, each service area comprising at least one base station defining at least one cell, the computer program comprising
- one or more modules for defining (a) a grid (1) on the one or more service areas;
- one or more modules for assigning (b) the at least one cell (2) to pixels defined by the grid (1);
- one or more modules for assigning (c) a pilot power (3) to the at least one cell (2);
- one or more modules for estimating (d) a desired downlink transmission power (4) for the at least one cell (2);
- one or more modules for comparing (e) the desired downlink transmission power (4) to a maximum transmission power (5) of the one or more base station.
