Abstract
The present invention provides stem cells characterized as having the ability to renew and the ability to give rise to endothelial and/or endothelial-like cells, methods of isolating such stem cells and methods of use thereof. Also provided are progeny cells derived from the stem cells of the invention.
Claims73
A method of preparing an enriched population of stem cells, comprising separating said enriched population of stem cells from a first population of cells, wherein said enriched population of stem cells comprises at least about a 100-fold greater concentration of P1H12+ stem cells than said first population of cells.
An isolated stem cell that is P1H12+ and AC133+ and that can self-renew and differentiate into an endothelial cell.
