Abstract
A card sheet including a top material having punched lines, the front side of the top material being printable. A carrier material of at least one polymer layer is directly applied as by extruding to the back side of the top material. The polymer has a stress-at-break in the range of 10 to 30 MPa and an elongation at break in the range of 10 to 120%. From the card sheet individual cards may be broken out to form high quality calling (business) cards, photograph cards, post cards or the like.
Claims151
A card sheet comprising:
- a top material having weakened lines;
- a front side of the top material being printable;
- and
- a carrier material of at least one polymer layer directly applied to a reverse side of the top material wherein the polymer layer has a stress-at-break according to EN-ISO 527-3/2/500 in the range of 10 to 30 MPa and an elongation at break according to EN-ISO 527-3/2/500 in the range of 10 to 120%.
A sheet comprising:
- a top sheet having a front side and a back side;
- a polymer carrier layer extruded onto the back side;
- cut lines through the top sheet to form at least a portion of a perimeter of a card;
- and
- the polymer carrier layer having stress and elongation properties such that after the sheet has been passed through a printer or copier and desired indicia printed on the front side, the sheet can be folded forward with a single folding action so that the polymer carrier layer snap breaks along the cut lines to form a separate printed card.
A sheet comprising:
- a polymer film sheet having die cut lines penetrating a partial thickness of the sheet and defining perimeter edges of subdivided sheets;
- the polymer film sheet having a printable surface;
- and
- the polymer film sheet having elongation at break and stress-at-break properties such that after the sheet has been passed through a printer or copier and a printing operation conducted on the printable surface, the sheet snap-breaks along the die cut lines when the sheet is folded on the lines to form individual printed subdivided sheets.
A method of making a sheet, comprising:
- applying a polymer coating directly to a back side of a top material;
- and
- cutting through the top material generally to the polymer coating to form perimeters of subdivided sheets on a sheet.
A sheet comprising:
- a top material having weakened lines;
- a front side of the top material being printable;
- and
- a polymer carrier directly applied to a reverse side of the top material, wherein the polymer carrier has a stress-at-break according to EN-ISO 527-3/2/500 in the range of 10 to 30 MPa and an elongation at break according to EN-ISO 527-3/2/500 in the range of 10 to 300%.
