Abstract
An encapsulated ingredient is disclosed comprising an ingredient component and a coating component. The coating component includes a lipid and one or more hydrophobic, high melting point compounds. The coating component typically has a melting point of at least about 70° C.

An encapsulated ingredient comprising:
- an ingredient component;
- and
- a coating component comprising a solid solution which includes a zinc organic acid salt component and a lipid component:
- wherein the coating component substantially surrounds the ingredient component.
An encapsulated ingredient comprising:
- an ingredient component;
- and
- a coating component comprising a solid solution which includes a zinc fatty acid salt component and a lipid component;
- wherein the coating component substantially surrounds the ingredient component.
An encapsulated ingredient for animal feed comprising:
- an ingredient component;
- and
- a coating component comprising a solid solution which includes a zinc organic acid salt component and a lipid component;
- wherein the coating component substantially encapsulates the ingredients.
A coating composition comprising:
- a solid solution including a zinc organic acid salt component having an Iodine Value not greater than 20 and a lipid component;
- wherein the melting point of the solid solution is about 90° C. to 130° C.
A coating composition comprising:
- a solid solution including zinc salts of fatty acid material and a lipid component;
- wherein the melting point of the solid solution is about 90° C. to 130° C.;
- and the fatty acid material has an Iodine Value of no more than about 20.
A coating composition comprising:
- a solid solution including a zinc organic acid salt component and a lipid component, the zinc organic acid salt component including at least about 80 wt% zinc salts of fatty acid material having an Iodine Value of no more than about 20;
- wherein the melting point of the solid solution is about 90° C. to 130° C.
A composition for encapsulating animal feed ingredients comprising:
- a zinc salt component comprising at least about 75 wt.% zinc salts of saturated fatty acids having 14 to 20 carbon atoms;
- and
- a lipid component;
- wherein the melting point of the composition is at least about 90° C.
An animal feed comprising:
- feedstuff;
- and
- an encapsulated ingredient comprising:
- an ingredient component;
- a coating component comprising a solid solution which includes a zinc organic acid salt component and a lipid component;
- wherein the coating component substantially surrounds the ingredient component.
