Abstract

The invention relates to a multi-level optical recording medium for a read/write system using a laser beam, comprising at least one substrate (4a, 4b) and a set of layers forming a deep level (12), and at least one semi-transparent level (10), each of these levels having two stable states reversible under the effect of laser radiation, characterised in that the semi-transparent level comprises a layer (7) of phase change material and at least one heat absorption layer (21) placed in front of the layer of phase change material, such that the laser beam passes through the heat absorption layer before reaching the phase change material.
