Apparatus for the treatment of a wiping solution

An apparatus for the treatment of a wiping solution which has been used in a printing press, which comprises:

• one or more ink flocculation tanks connected to a flocculated-solution tank for adding one or more flocculants to used wiping solution containing ink and received from a used wiping solution tank;
• dehydration filter apparatus connected to said flocculated-solution tank for separating said used wiping solution containing said ink and said flocculants into sludge and a filtrate, said filtrate being fed to a filtrate tank;
• a condenser/evaporator, including a heat exchanger, connected to the filtrate tank and receiving filtrate therefrom and producing distilled water and a concentrated solution of salt;
• a distilled water tank and a concentrated solution tank for respectively receiving the distilled water and the concentrated solution of salt from said condenser/evaporator;
• water recycling apparatus for recycling said distilled water from the distilled water tank to a wiping solution production tank which additionally receives water and surfactant from an external source for producing wiping solution which is fed to a wiping solution tank containing said wiping roller;
• and
• a concentrated solution post treatment assembly including a dryer for separating said concentrated solution of salt into steam and a solid residue of salt.
