Abstract
The subject of the present invention is a method and a device for the separation of fuel-vapor/air mixtures into their components, in particular for purification of vapor mixtures, such as occur in fuel tanks of motor vehicles. For this purpose, a preseparator is arranged between the fuel tank and the filter. In said preseparator, the hydrocarbons are separated from the mixture and are supplied to the fuel tank again. The remaining mixture is supplied to the filter.
Claims28
A method for the separation of fuel-vapor/air mixtures of a fuel tank (1), preferably in motor vehicles, in which the gas mixture to be purified is supplied from the fuel tank (1) to a filter (5), in which the gas mixture to be purified is supplied to a preseparator (4), and, in the preseparator (4), hydrocarbons are separated from the gas mixture and are supplied to the fuel tank (1) again, and in which the purified gas is conducted to the filter (5), characterized in that the separation of the hydrocarbons in the preseparator (4) takes place inside the fuel tank (1), and in that the gas purified by the preseparator (4) is extracted from the fuel tank (1).
