Abstract
A memory management device enables to effectively use a memory which permits its stored data to be erased only in blocks. A facsimile apparatus is arranged to temporarily store sending information and received information in the memory and then to send or receive the information. The facsimile apparatus includes a flash memory whose data is allowed to be erased only in blocks and a storage unit for storing the sending or the received information in its own blocks if the sending or the received information is stored in the flash memory.
Claims14
A memory management device comprising:
- a memory arranged to inverse each bit of an initial state for storing data;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory in the state that a state of said bits inverted from the initial state on said memory represents a starting state.
A memory management device comprising:
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into plural blocks and erase data stored therein only in blocks;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that if said memory is not formatted, said memory is formatted to be divided into blocks and said blocks are coupled as an empty block group, if information is stored in said memory after being formatted, any empty block is picked out of said empty block group and said information is stored in said picked-up empty block.
A memory management device comprising:
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into plural blocks and erase stored data only in blocks;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that said blocks are held as an empty block group, information is stored in the head of said empty block group, and if said information stored in said head block is erased from said head block, said block is coupled to the tail of said empty block group.
A memory management device comprising:
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into plural blocks, erase stored data only in blocks, and reverse its initial state bit by bit for rewriting the data;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that when information stored in any block of said memory is erased, the locational information of the block is represented as a maximum value for connecting the block to the tail of an empty block group, and each time such a block is connected to the empty block group, the locational information is decreased.
A memory management device as claimed in claim arranged to control said memory so that the locational information of said connected blocks is represented as a sequence of said empty block group and the locational information of a block located at the last end is represented as a maximum value.
A memory management device comprising:
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks and erase stored data only in blocks;
- control means for controlling said memory so that said blocks are sectionalized according to an erasing condition of information to be stored and said information is stored in the block whose erasing condition is met;
- and
- erasing means for erasing a content stored in any block if the erasing conditions of all the informations stored in the block are met.
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- communication means for sending or receiving information;
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks and erase stored data only in blocks;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that if said information to be sent or received by said communication means is stored in said memory, said received information and sending information are stored in respective blocks of said memory.
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- communication means for sending or receiving information;
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks and erase stored data only in blocks;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that a stored content type containing information sent and received by said communication means is stored in each of said blocks.
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- communication means for sending or receiving information;
- output means for outputting said information for printing;
- a memory, arranged to divide its storage area into blocks and erase stored data only in blocks;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so as to more divide each of said blocks into subblocks and store in one of said subblocks management information about image data stored in the other subblocks, said management information containing termination of the communication done by said communication means and termination of printed output of the received information done by said outputting means.
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks, erase stored data only in blocks and compose an empty block group in a predetermined sequence;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that if said block is selected from said memory for storing data, said block is picked out of the head of said empty block group for storing the data.
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- reading means for reading a manuscript;
- communication means for sending or receiving information;
- output means for outputting printed information;
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks, erase stored data only in blocks, and store sending information read by said reading means and received information obtained by said communication means in respective places;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that when the sending information stored in said memory is sent by said communication means or when the received information is outputted from said outputting means in a printed manner, the sending information or the received information is erased from their respective blocks.
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- communication means for sending or receiving information;
- outputting means for outputting information in a printed manner;
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks, erase stored data only in blocks, and compose an empty block group in a predetermined sequence;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that if information stored in blocks is erased from said memory, said block whose data is erased is coupled to the tail of said empty block group.
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- reading means for reading a manuscript;
- communication means for sending or receiving information;
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks and erase stored data only in blocks;
- erasing means for erasing said stored data in blocks;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that if a request for registering the sending information is issued by said reading means or a request for receiving the information is issued by said communication means while the data is being erased, the number of empty blocks is counted, and if the count is equal to or more than the regulated number, said erasing is continued, or if the count is less than the regulated number, after data is erased until the number of the empty blocks reaches said regulated number, said registering operation is performed by said reading means or said receiving operation is performed by said communication means
A facsimile apparatus comprising:
- a memory arranged to divide its storage area into blocks and erase stored data only in blocks;
- operating means for indicating erasion -of said memory in blocks;
- display means for displaying a message indicating that data is being erased for a shorter time than a time needed for erasion before the erasing process by handling said operating means;
- and
- control means for controlling said memory so that data stored in said memory is erased in blocks after said message is displayed in said display means.
