Abstract
The present invention provides for inexpensive transparent microwave antennas with high efficiency. Conductors for the antennas are formed from metallic meshes with a net transparency greater than 70% and supported by a clear substrate. The associated antenna gain efficiencies are greater than 50%.
Claims47
A substantially transparent antenna, comprising:
- a substantially transparent substrate having first and second sides;
- a first conductive mesh carried on said first side and configured to define at least one patch;
- and
- a second conductive mesh carried on said second side and configured to define a ground plane.
1 more element
A substantially transparent antenna, comprising:
- a substantially transparent substrate having first and second sides;
- a first conductive mesh carried on said first side and configured to define at least one first antenna element;
- and
- a second conductive mesh carried on said second side and configured to define at least one second antenna element.
1 more element
A substantially transparent antenna, comprising:
- at least one antenna element that is formed by at least one conductive mesh;
- and
- a substantially-transparent substrate that carries said conductive mesh.
The antenna of claim 40, wherein said conductive members are arranged in a substantially-orthogonal relationship.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
