Display device, hermetic container, and method for manufacturing hermetic container

A flat-panel display device including a hermetic container provided with a cathode for emitting electrons and an anode to be supplied with an electric potential, the flat-panel display device comprising:

• an anode substrate provided with the anode electrode;
• a cathode substrate arranged facing the anode substrate at a predetermined spacing therefrom, and provided with the cathode, the cathode substrate having a penetration hole therethrough;
• an anode terminal arranged in the penetration hole and electrically connected to the anode electrode;
• and
• a conductive member disposed adjacent an opening end of the penetration hole and on an inner surface of the cathode substrate,
• wherein the conductive member is electrically coupled to the anode terminal and is supplied with the electric potential through the anode terminal.

A hermetic container which has an internal pressure lower than an external pressure and which includes therein an electrode to be supplied with an electric potential, the hermetic container comprising:

• a first substrate provided with the electrode;
• a second substrate arranged facing the first substrate at a predetermined spacing from the first substrate, the second substrate having a penetration hole therethrough;
• and
• a conductive member, at least partially inserted in the penetration hole for supplying an electric potential to the electrode,
• wherein the conductive member comprises a first portion, at least a portion of which is inserted in the penetration hole, and a second portion which is integral with the first portion and which is disposed adjacent an opening end of the penetration hole, and
• wherein the second portion substantially hermetically seals the penetration hole.

A hermetic container which has an internal pressure lower than an external pressure and which includes therein an electrode to be supplied with an electric potential, the hermetic container comprising:

• a first substrate provided with the electrode;
• a second substrate arranged facing the first substrate at a predetermined spacing therefrom, the second substrate having a penetration hole therethrough;
• and
• a conductive member arranged between the penetration hole and the electrode,
• wherein the conductive member is supplied with an externally-supplied electric potential to be provided to the electrode, and is disposed adjacent an opening end of the penetration hole on an inner surface of the second substrate.
