Abstract
Systems and methods for providing a recreational sled that is configured to selectively enable a user to carry a sliding mechanism up an incline and/or to support the user on the mechanism and allow the user to travel a distance down the incline. A seat is coupled to at least one of a winter sliding mechanism and a non-winter sliding mechanism. A user selectively uses at least one of the sliding mechanisms to slide down a snowy/icy incline or to slide down a non-snowy/non-icy incline.
Claims20
A recreational sled device comprising:
- a user-supporting portion configured to support a user;
- and
- a fixed containing mechanism coupled to the user-supporting portion, wherein the fixed containing mechanism is configured to selectively receive at least a portion of a sliding mechanism and to prevent the portion of the sliding mechanism from escaping from underneath the user-supporting portion when the recreational sled device is supporting the user, and wherein the sliding mechanism is at least one of:
- (i) a block of ice, wherein the block of ice may be rotated about a longitudinal axis so that any one of a plurality of sides of the block of ice may be selectively used to enable sliding;
- and
- (ii) another sliding mechanism.
A recreational sled device comprising:
- a user-supporting portion configured to support a user;
- and
- a fixed containing mechanism coupled to the user-supporting portion, wherein the fixed containing mechanism is configured to selectively receive a portion of a block of ice and to prevent the portion of the block of ice from escaping from underneath the user-supporting portion when the recreational sled device is supporting the user, wherein the block of ice is one of a plurality of interchangeable sliding mechanisms that the fixed containing mechanism is configured to selectively and interchangeably receive, and wherein the block of ice may be rotated about a longitudinal axis so that any one of a plurality of sides of the block of ice may be selectively employed to enable sliding.
A method for manufacturing a recreational sled device, the method comprising the steps for:
- providing a user-supporting portion that is configured to support a user;
- providing a fixed containing mechanism coupled to the user-supporting portion;
- configuring the fixed containing mechanism to selectively receive at least a portion of a block of ice and to prevent the portion of the block of ice from escaping from underneath the user-supporting portion when the recreational sled device is supporting the user;
- and
- configuring the fixed containing mechanism to allow the block of ice to be rotated about a longitudinal axis so that any one of a plurality of sides of the block of ice may be selectively used to enable sliding.
