Abstract
The present invention describes a device for mounting a pedal lever 1 of a motor vehicle, which is accommodated in a housing 3 pivotably around at least one severable bearing element 2. A separating wedge 5, which is supported on one side against a motor vehicle component 7, is arranged facing the bearing element 2 with at least one cutting edge 4 provided at the separating wedge 5 such that the bearing element 2 is shorn off by the separating wedge 5 as a consequence of the action of an external force, which may be caused, e.g., by an accident, due to a relative movement between the separating wedge 5 and the bearing element 2.

Device for mounting a said pedal lever (1) of a motor vehicle, which is accommodated in a said housing (3) pivotably around at least one said severable bearing element (2),
- characterized in that
- a said separating wedge (5) with at least one said cutting edge (4) provided on the said separating wedge (5), which said separating wedge (5) is supported against a said motor vehicle component (7), is arranged facing the said bearing element (2) such that the said bearing element (2) is shorn off by the said separating wedge (5) as a consequence of the action of an external force due to a relative movement between the said separating wedge (5) and the said bearing element (2).
Device for mounting a pedal lever in accordance with one of the above claims,

- the said separating wedge (5) has a said wedge-shaped or arc-shaped cutting edge (4) on the side facing the said bearing element (2).

- the said housing (3) is fastened at the front wall in the foot area of the driver's side of the motor vehicle and the said motor vehicle component (7) is a cross rail.

- the said bearing element (2) having a said predetermined breaking point (9) each per said cutting edge (4) is a one-part or two-part bearing bolt.
Device for mounting a pedal lever in accordance with one of the above claims,
- characterized in that
- a blocking member, which limits the yielding movement of the pedal in the direction of the interior space of the passenger compartment in an accident, is present at the said housing (3).
Device for mounting a pedal lever in accordance with one of the above claims,

- the said separating wedge (5) has a securing means for holding it at the said housing (3).
