Abstract
The instant invention provides methods and pharmaceutical compositions for reducing LDL cholesterol levels in mammals comprising the administration of a therapeutically effective amount of greater than 40 mg once per day of pravastatin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof, to a mammal in need of such treatment.

A method for reducing LDL cholesterol levels in a mammal comprising the administration of 80 mg or 160 mg once per day of pravastatin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof, to a mammal in need of such treatment.
A single dose composition comprising 80 mg or 160 mg of pravastatin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
