The present invention is concerned with pharmaceutical formulations comprising a combination of salmeterol and budesonide and the use of such formulations in medicine, particularly in the prophylaxis and treatment of respiratory diseases.

A pharmaceutical formulation comprising salmeterol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or physiologically functional derivative thereof and budesonide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or physiologically functional derivative thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient, and optionally one or more other therapeutic ingredients.
