Abstract
The invention relates to nucleic acids which encode fungal polypeptides with the biological activity of acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase, to the polypeptides encoded by them and to their use as targets for fungicides and to their use for identifying new, fungicidally active compounds, and to methods of finding modulators of these polypeptides and, finally, to transgenic organisms containing sequences encoding fungal polypeptides with the function of an acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase.
Claims31
Nucleic acid encoding a polypeptide with the activity of an ACAT from phytopathogenic fungi.
Polypeptide with the biological activity of an ACAT selected from
- a) the sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO. 4,
- b) sequences which have at least 60%, preferably 80% and especially preferably 90% identity with the sequences defined under a), and
- c) sequences which have the same biological activity as the sequences defined under a).
Use of fungal ACAT, nucleic acids encoding it, or DNA constructs or host cells containing these nucleic acids for finding fungicidal active compounds.
Use of a modulator of a polypeptide with the biological activity of an ACAT as fungicide.
Use of a modulator of a polypeptide with the biological activity of an ACAT for preparing a composition for controlling harmful fungi.
