Abstract
The present invention relates to novel thiol stabilised gold nanoparticles for decorative uses. Methods of their preparation, compositions comprising them and uses of gold nanoparticles and compositions are also described.

The use of a gold material for decorative purposes wherein said material comprises gold nanoparticles stabilised by thiol groups described by the general formula shown below, said compound exhibiting a plasmon frequency of between 480 and 600 nm:
