Abstract
Methods and systems for the manufacture of reinforcing preforms for structural composite products. Minimum contact eyelets reduce friction in the supply system for string reinforcing materials. Also, preforms of various configurations and thicknesses can be produced.
Claims15
A system for the manufacture of reinforcing preforms for structural composite molding, comprising:
- a first cell including a first mold member and a first air supply system;
- a second cell including a second mold and a second air supply system;
- a robotic member for supplying reinforcing materials to each of the first and second mold members;
- and
- a material supply system for providing reinforcing materials to said robotic member;
- said material supply system comprising a plurality of eyelet members.
A system for the manufacture of reinforcing preforms for structural composite molding, comprising:
- at least one mold for making a preform;
- an air supply system for supplying air to said mold;
- a robotic member for supplying reinforcing materials to said at least one mold;
- and
- a material supply system for providing string reinforcing materials to said robotic member;
- said supply system comprising a plurality of eyelet members for guiding said string reinforcing materials to said robotic member.
A system for the manufacture of reinforcing preforms for structural composite molding, comprising:
- a first cell including a first mold member;
- a second cell including a second mold member;
- a track member extending between said first and second cells;
- a robotic member for supplying reinforcing materials to said first and second mold members, said robotic member positioned on said track member and adapted to move back and forth between said first and second cell members;
- and
- a material supply system for providing reinforcing materials to said robotic member, said material supply system comprising a plurality of eyelet members for guiding reinforcing materials in said material supply system.
A system for the manufacture of reinforcing preforms for structural composite molding, comprising:
- at least one mold for making a preform;
- said mold comprising a first mold member and a second mold member;
- an air supply system for supplying air to said mold;
- at least one robotic member for supplying reinforcing materials to said at least one mold;
- a material supply system for providing string reinforcing materials to said at least one robotic member;
- at least one air sealing member positioned between said first and second mold member;
- and
- said supply system comprises a plurality of eyelet members for guiding said string reinforcing materials to said robotic member.
