Abstract
The present invention relates to novel protein variants that exhibit reduced allergenicity when compared to the parental proteins. Also included are DNA molecules that encode the novel variants, host cells comprising the DNA and methods of making proteins less allergenic.
Claims24
A variant of a protease of interest comprising a substitution in a protease of interest at a position corresponding to I122A of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.
A skin care composition comprising a variant of a protease of interest comprising a T-cell epitope, wherein said variant differs from said protease of interest by having an altered T-cell epitope such that said variant and said protease of interest produce different immunogenic responses in a human;
- wherein said T-cell epitope of said protease of interest includes an amino acid substitution selected from the group consisting of residues corresponding to 76, 79 and 122 of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens subtilisin.
A skin care composition comprising:
- a) from about 0.00001% to about 1%, by weight, of a variant of a protease of interest comprising a T-cell epitope, wherein said variant differs from said protease of interest by having an altered T-cell epitope such that said variant and said protease of interest produce different immunogenic responses in a human;
- wherein said T-cell epitope of said protease of interest includes an amino acid substitution selected from the group consisting of residues corresponding to 76, 79 and 122 of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens subtilisin;
- b) from about 0.01% to about 20%, by weight, of a humectant;
- c) from about 0.1% to about 20%, by weight, of a skin care active;
- d) from about 0.05% to about 15%, by weight, of a surfactant;
- and from about 0.1% to about 20%, by weight, of silicone.
