Abstract
An information recording apparatus for recording video information conforming to a first format comprises generation section for generating conversion compatibility information indicating the compatibility of conversion of video information conforming to the first format into video information conforming to a second format, and recording section for recording the video information conforming to the first format with the conversion compatibility information. The conversion compatibility information is typically contained in title information and it is possible to know the convertibility of the video information in advance on the basis of the conversion compatibility information.
Claims14
An information recording apparatus for recording video information conforming to a first format in a recording region, the apparatus comprising:
- generation section which generates conversion compatibility information indicating the compatibility of conversion of video information conforming to the first format into the video information conforming to a second format;
- and
- recording section which records the video information conforming to the first format with the conversion compatibility information generated by the generation section.
An information recording apparatus for recording video information conforming to a first format, the apparatus comprising:
- selection section which selects a recording restriction mode which guarantees the compatibility of conversion of the video information conforming to the first format into the video information conforming to the second format;
- and
- recording section which performs recording restriction so long as the video information can be converted, and records the video information conforming to the first format with information on the selection of the selection section, when the recording restrictions is selected by the selection section.
An information recording apparatus adapted to convert video information recorded conforming to a first format into video information conforming to a second format, the apparatus comprising:
- judging section reads conversion compatibility information indicating compatibility of converting video information conforming to the first format into video information conforming to the second format, and judges a converting operation to be performed or not on the basis of the conversion compatibility information;
- and
- conversion section reads out the video information conforming to the first format and converts it into video information conforming to the second format in response to the judgment of the judging section when the judging section judges the conversion to be performed.
An information recording apparatus adapted to convert video information recorded conforming to a first format into video information conforming to a second format, the apparatus comprising:
- judging section which reads the information on selection recorded within a scope of convertibility of video information conforming to the first format into video information conforming to the second format, and judges a converting operation to be performed or not on the basis of the read out information;
- and
- conversion section which reads out the video information conforming to the first format and converts it into video information conforming to the second format in response to the judgment of the judging section when the judging section judges the conversion to be performed.
