Abstract
A telephone of the present invention is a push button type telephone whereby a DTMF signal of a first one-touch dial table is sent out in accordance with operation keys input in the general line mode and a DTMF signal of a second one-touch dial table is sent out in the private branch exchange mode. A signal sent out from a telephone in the private branch exchange mode represents a character string composed of one or more of character, starting with a character selected from a particular character group like such a less frequently used character as “A”, “B”, “C” or “D”, for example. A function table on the part of a private branch exchange establishes ties between a character string starting with a character included in the aforementioned character group and a service function.
Claims11
A telephone comprising:
- (a) a line interfacing unit to connect to a communications line;
- (b) a DTMF signal generator to generate a DTMF signal;
- (c) a key inputting unit with operation keys used in sending a DTMF signal to a communications line or a private branch exchange;
- (d) a first one-touch dial table allowing a dial number to be stored;
- (e) a second one-touch dial table storing a dial number;
- and
- (f) a switch for selecting one of a first mode using said first one-touch dial table and a second mode using said second one-touch dial table.
A system including a telephone comprising:
- (a) a line interfacing unit to connect to a communications line;
- (b) a DTMF signal generator to generate a DTMF signal;
- (c) a key inputting unit with operation keys used in sending a DTMF signal to a communications line or a private branch exchange;
- (d) a first one-touch dial table allowing a dial number to be stored;
- (e) a second one-touch dial table allowing a dial number to be stored;
- and
- (f) a switch for selecting one of a first mode using said first one-touch table and a second mode using said second one-touch dial table, and a private branch exchange comprising:
- (g) an extension station interfacing unit to connect to an extension station;
- (h) a DTMF signal detector to detect a DTMF signal from a signal sent from said extension station interfacing unit;
- (i) a DTMF analyzer to analyze a DTMF signal detected by said DTMF signal detector;
- (j) a storing unit to store a function table, whereby ties between a plurality of character strings and a plurality of service functions are established;
- and
- (k) when a DTMF signal analyzed by said DTMF analyzer is determined as a character string included in said function table stored in said storing unit, a controller to execute a service function corresponding to said character string,
- wherein such a configuration is set up as making it possible to use a character string composed of one or more of character, starting with a character selected from a particular character group, as a transmitted signal used between said telephone and said private branch exchange in a private branch exchange mode,
- ties between said character string composed of one or more of character, starting with a character selected from a particular character group, and said operation keys are established by said second one-touch dial table of said telephone, and
- ties between a character string composed of one or more of character, starting with a character selected from said same character group and a service function are established by said function table of said private branch exchange.
A private branch exchange comprising:
- (a) an extension station interfacing unit to connect to an extension station;
- (b) a DTMF signal detector to detect a DTMF signal from a signal sent from said extension station interfacing unit;
- (c) a DTMF analyzer to analyze a DTMF signal detected by said DTMF signal detector;
- (d) a storing unit to store a function table, whereby ties between a character string composed of one or more of character, starting with a character selected from a particular character group, and a service function are established;
- and
- (e) when a DTMF signal analyzed by said DTMF analyzer is determined as a character string included in said function table stored in said storing unit, a controller to execute a service function corresponding to said character string.
