Image output apparatus, method of controlling the image output apparatus, and image output system

An image output apparatus comprising:

• a color matching unit adapted for subjecting image data to color matching processing into a device color space for the image output apparatus;
• and
• a drawing unit which, if the image data retains, as an extension tag, information indicative of the environment in which the image data was created, is adapted for drawing image data based upon information retained as the extension tag.

An image output system comprising an image processing apparatus and an image output apparatus for drawing and outputting image data transmitted from said image processing apparatus, said image output apparatus including:

• a color matching unit adapted for subjecting image data from said image processing apparatus to color matching processing into a device color space for the image output apparatus;
• and
• a color-change controller which, if the image data is a geometric object having a change in color, is adapted for interpolating a changed value of color in the geometric object in the device color space based upon results of the color matching at a control point of the geometric object.

An image output system comprising an image processing apparatus and an image output apparatus for drawing and outputting image data transmitted from said image processing apparatus,

• said image processing apparatus adding information, which is indicative of the environment in which the image data was created, onto the image data as an extension tag, said image output apparatus subjecting image data to color matching processing into a device color space for the image output apparatus and drawing the image data based upon information within the extension tag if the image data retains the extension tag.

A method of controlling an image processing apparatus for subjecting image data to color matching processing into a device color space for the image output apparatus, wherein, if the image data is a geometric object having a change in color, said method comprises a step of interpolating a changed value of color in the geometric object in the device color space based upon results of the color matching at a control point of the geometric object.

A method of controlling an image processing apparatus for subjecting image data to color matching processing into a device color space for the image processing apparatus, wherein, if the image data retains, as an extension tag, information indicating the environment in which the image data was created, said method includes a step of drawing image data based upon information retained as the extension tag.

A program that causes a computer to implement a method which, by being executed by a computer, implements a method of controlling an image processing apparatus for subjecting image data to color matching processing into a device color space for the image processing apparatus, wherein, if the image data is a geometric object having a change in color, said method comprises a step of interpolating a changed value of color in the geometric object in the device color space based upon results of the color matching at a control point of the geometric object.

A program that causes a computer to implement a method of controlling an image processing apparatus for subjecting image data to color matching processing into a device color space for the image processing apparatus, wherein if the image data retains, as an extension tag, information indicative of the environment in which the image data was created, said method includes a step of drawing image data based upon information retained as the extension tag.
