Abstract
In an injection system with pressure intensification with a simple and space-saving design, control means are provided permitting a large range fuel injection pressure control, which also permits rapid adaptation of the fuel injection pressure to the various engine operating conditions.
Claims9
An injection system operating with pressure intensification, comprising:
- a fuel injector, a pressurized fuel source for supplying fuel to said fuel injector, said fuel injector including a nozzle needle and an actuation space at the rear end of said nozzle needle remote from the tip thereof and being connected (in a throttling manner) to an inlet line extending from said pressurized fuel source and leading to a fuel return, said injection system having, in a bypass to a fuel inlet line portion, a non-return protection relative to the pressure source, a pressure intensifier in communication with said inlet line and comprising a fuel receiver and a pressure transmitter having a smaller working surface, which is connected to the inflow to the actuating space of the fuel injector and including a spring providing a force on the pressure receiver which, with respect to its working surface acted upon in the direction of the pressure transmitter, is connected to said pressure fuel source, from which a throttled connection leads to a control space assigned to the opposite surface of the pressure receiver, the control space and the actuation space being connected to the return line by a valve, the connection of the control space and of the action space to the return being established by a common control valve.
An injection system operating with pressure intensification, including a fuel injector supplied with an injection medium from a pressure source, said fuel injector comprising a nozzle needle with a tip and an actuation space disposed at the rear end of said nozzle-needle opposite the tip thereof and connected in a throttling manner to an inlet line extending from said pressure source and to a return line, said injection system having a bypass to a portion of said inlet line and a non-return valve disposed in said portion, a pressure intensifier comprising a pressure receiver and a pressure transmitter having a smaller working surface than said pressure receiver and being connected to said inlet line to said actuation space, said fuel pressure intensifier including a spring biasing said pressure transmitter against the pressure source, from which a throttled connection leads to a control space assigned to the opposite surface of the pressure transmitter, the control space and the actuation space being both connected to said return line individually by way of a control valve, said control valve for the connection of the control space to the return being a spool valve disposed in the fuel supply path to the nozzle needle emanating from the actuation space of the fuel injector.
An injection system operating with pressure intensification, including a fuel injector receiving fuel from a pressure source, and including a nozzle needle and an actuation space disposed on the rear side of said nozzle needle, said actuation space being connected in a throttling manner to an inlet line leading from said pressure source to a return line, said injection system having disposed, in a bypass line to an inlet line section, a non-return protection valve, a pressure intensifier comprising a pressure receiver and a pressure transmitter having a working surface smaller than that of said pressure receiver connected to said inlet line leading to the actuation space of the fuel injector and including a spring biasing said pressure receiver in a direction opposite to said pressure transmitter toward the pressure source, a throttled fuel connection line extending to a control space at the opposite side of the pressure receiver, said control space and said actuation space being individually connected to said return by separate control valves, said control valves being disposed in the connection line of the control space and, respectively, said actuation space to said return and comprising each a control spool providing for pressure control, said connection lines being branched off from the inlet line and, respectively, a connection line extending between the inlet line and the connection line of the other control valve to the actuation space and respectively, the control space.
