Abstract
Provided is a ceramic porous body which uses a binder made of a glass excellent in acid resistance and alkali resistance which can be used for a long period of time as a filtration filter etc. This ceramic porous body is formed from ceramic particles bonded by using a binder which is a glass comprising 5 to 20 mol % of a plural kind of metal oxides, said metal oxides being selected from the group consisting of Li2O, Na2O, K2O, MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO and containing at least two alkali metal oxides among Li2O, Na2O and K2O as an essential component, 3 mol % or more of either or both of ZrO2 and TiO2 as a total amount, and SiO2 and incidental impurities as a balance.
Claims11
A ceramic porous body formed from ceramic particles bound by use of a binder which is a glass consisting essentially of 5 to 20 mol % of a plural kind of metal oxides, said metal oxides being selected from the group consisting of Li2O, Na2O, K2O, MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO and containing at least two alkali metal oxides among Li2O, Na2O and K2O as an essential component, 3 mol % or more of either or both of ZrO2 and TiO2 as a total amount, and SiO2 and unavoidable impurities as a balance.
A method of manufacturing a glass comprising the steps of mixing a silica sol to a glass frit containing 10 to 20 mol % of a plural kind of metal oxides inclusive of at least two alkali metal oxides among Li2O, Na2O and K2O as an essential component and firing an obtained mixture, whereby eventually a glass containing 5 to 20 mol % of said metal oxides is obtained.
A method of manufacturing a ceramic filter of multilayer construction comprising the steps of forming a porous intermediate membrane on a surface of a porous substrate and further forming a filtration membrane on a surface of said intermediate membrane, wherein the intermediate membrane is formed on the surface of the substrate by use of a slurry for intermediate membrane containing a silica sol, the filtration membrane is formed on the surface of the intermediate membrane by use of a slurry for filtration membrane and a laminate obtained by drying is fired.
