Abstract
The invention concerns cDNA molecules encoding TANGO 191 and TANGO 195, both of which are transmembrane proteins. The nucleic acids and polypeptides of the present invention are useful as modulating agents in regulating a variety of cellular processes. Accordingly, in one aspect, this invention provides isolated nucleic acid molecules encoding a polypeptide of the invention or biologically active portion thereof. The present invention also provides nucleic acid molecules which are suitable as primers or hybridization probes for the detection of nucleic acids encoding a polypeptide of the invention.
Claims22
An isolated nucleic acid molecule selected from the group consisting of:
- a) a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence which is at least 55% identical to the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, 3, 4, 6, 24, 26, 36, 38, 44, or 46, the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98881, the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98882, or a complement thereof;
- b) a nucleic acid molecule comprising a fragment of at least 300 nucleotides of the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, 3, 4, 6, 24, 26, 36, 38, 44, or 46, the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98881, the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98882, or a complement thereof;
- c) a nucleic acid molecule which encodes a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, 5, 25, 37, or 45, amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98881, or the amino acid sequence of the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98882;
- d) a nucleic acid molecule which encodes a fragment of a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, 5, 25, 37, or 45, the polypeptide encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 9881, or the polypeptide encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98882, wherein the fragment comprises at least 15 contiguous amino acids of SEQ ID NO:2, 5, 25, 37, or 45, the polypeptide encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98881, or the polypeptide encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98882;
- and
- e) a nucleic acid molecule which encodes a naturally occurring allelic variant of a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, 5, 25, 37, or 45, the amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98881, or the amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98882, wherein the nucleic acid molecule hybridizes to a nucleic acid molecule comprising SEQ ID NO:3, 6, 26, 38, or 46, or a complement thereof under stringent conditions.
An isolated polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:
- a) a fragment of a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, 5, 25, 37, or 45, wherein the fragment comprises at least 15 contiguous amino acids of SEQ ID NO:2, 5, 25, 37, or 45;
- b) a naturally occurring allelic variant of a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, 5, 25, 37, or 45, the amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98881, or the amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98882, wherein the polypeptide is encoded by a nucleic acid molecule which hybridizes to a nucleic acid molecule comprising SEQ ID NO:1, 4, 24, 36, or 44 or complement thereof under stringent conditions;
- and
- c) a polypeptide which is encoded by a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence which is at least 55% identical to a nucleic acid comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, 4, 24, 36, or 44 or a complement thereof.
