Abstract
This invention relates to the use of particular contrast agents to prepare diagostic compounds suitable for non-invasive visualisation under physiological conditions of the intestinal tract, and the colon in particular.

A diagnostic method for the visualisation of the intestinal tract comprising the administration to a subject in need of such visualisation of a contrast agent excreted by the hepatobiliary route in a percentage equal to or exceeding 0.5% of the dose injected followed by application of a suitable imaging method.
