Abstract
A liquid crystal display device and a method of fabricating the same are disclosed in the present invention. The liquid crystal display device includes first and second substrates facing into each other, a sealant outside a liquid crystal display panel region between the first and second substrates, a first column spacer surrounded by the sealant, and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.

A liquid crystal display device, comprising:
- first and second substrates facing into each other;
- a sealant outside a liquid crystal display panel region between the first and second substrates;
- a first column spacer surrounded by the sealant;
- and
- a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.

A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, comprising:
- forming a liquid crystal on a liquid crystal display panel region of a first substrate;
- forming a first column spacer outside the liquid crystal display panel region on a second substrate;
- forming a sealant in the peripheral region of the liquid crystal display panel region to surround the first column spacer;
- and
- bonding the first and second substrates to each other.
