To make a realistic digital photograph of a subject composed of a moving element such as a waterfall or a mountain stream, and still elements such as trees and rocks surrounding the moving element, firstly photographs of the subject are taken at shutter speeds involving an estimated speed of the moving element, then digital images of these photographs are indicated on a monitor of a computer image processing system, and after selecting at least one digital image having a desirable quality to make a realistic photograph, color modification is applied to this digital image to modify at least the brightness (light condition) thereof to create a digital image having a color condition (lightness, contrast, chroma, color balance) such that the modified digital image substantially matches the color condition of a digital image of a comparative photograph having realistic color condition. Accordingly, a digital photograph having a realistic color condition can be printed from the modified digital image.
A method for making a digital photograph of a subject composed of moving elements and still elements, comprising a first step of photographing said subject and a second step of storing digital data of a photograph obtained by said first step operation in a computer of a computer image processing system whereby a basic digital image is indicated on a monitor of said system, a third step of processing said basic digital image to create a predetermined image by applying image processing technology by computer whereby a modified digital image is indicated on said monitor, and a fourth step of printing a digital photograph based upon the digital data of said modified digital image,
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claim 1, wherein said third step involves modification of chroma and color balance between said moving elements and said still elements, whereby a modified digital image having a color condition (lightness, contrast, chroma, color balance) that can be accepted as a digital image to make a realistic digital photograph.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the photographing of said first step is performed in a series of several shutter speeds involving an estimated shutter speed decided by a person taking photographs as a shutter speed close to the speed of said moving elements.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claims 1 and 2, wherein said first step operation is carried out by a series of plural selected shutter speeds in a range between {fraction (1/125)} second and {fraction (1/16000)} second.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claims 1 and 2, wherein said first step is carried out under a photographing condition of setting the value of exposure compensation in a condition not higher than ±0.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claim 2, wherein said third step operation is carried out to create said modified digital image characterized by a color condition (lightness, contrast, chroma, color balance) matching a visual perception to a color condition of a standard digital image having a color condition such as to print said realistic digital photograph.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claim 6, wherein said standard digital image is prepared by recording digital data of a standard photograph having a realistic color condition except for that of a moving element, in a computer of said system, said standard photograph is taken at a normal shutter speed in a range between {fraction (1/60)} second and {fraction (1/125)} second as recommended by a specification attached to a camera at the time of purchase.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claim 6, wherein said third step operation is carried out by simultaneously indicating said digital image of said standard photograph at a position beside said digital image of said basic digital image.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claim 2, wherein said fourth step operation of printing a digital photograph is carried out by a printer built into said computer image processing system.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claim 2, wherein said fourth step operation of printing a digital photograph is carried out by a printer of a system independently separated from said computer image processing system.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claims 1 and 2, wherein said first step of taking photographs is carried out by using a digital camera.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claims 1 and 2, wherein said first step operation is carried out by setting ISO sensitivity to at least 400.
A method for making a digital photograph as set forth in claims 1 and 2, wherein said first step is carried out by using a digital camera enabling free selection and setting of ISO sensitivity, taking photographs at ISO sensitivities and shutter speeds preliminarily set to several stages, setting ISO sensitivity so that halation does not occur in flowing water, and so that the composition of still elements can be grasped by a monitor display image of said camera, then taking photographs at several high shutter speeds of at least {fraction (1/350)} second giving priority to shutter speed.
