Claims41
A substantially pure preparation of a polypeptide, the sequence of which comprises the sequence of a CAIP polypeptide.
A recombinant CAIP polypeptide.
A composition comprising a CAIP polypeptide and a therapeutically accepted carrier.
A method of producing a recombinant CAIP polypeptide comprising culturing a cell transfected with the a nucleic acid which encodes a CAIP polypeptide and isolating said CAIP polypeptide.
A substantially pure nucleic acid comprising a CAIP nucleotide sequence.
A vector comprising a nucleic acid which encodes a CAIP polypeptide.
A composition comprising a CAIP nucleic acid and a therapeutically accepted carrier.
A method of producing a recombinant CAIP polypeptide comprising culturing a cell transfected with the a nucleic acid which encodes a CAIP polypeptide and isolating said CAIP polypeptide.
A purified preparation of cells which include a CAIP transgene.
A transgenic CAIP non-human animal.
A substantially pure nucleic acid comprising a CAIP nucleotide sequence.
A vector comprising a nucleic acid which encodes a CAIP polypeptide.
A substantially pure nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence which encodes a CAIP polypeptide.
A composition comprising a CAIP nucleic acid and a therapeutically accepted carrier.
A method of producing a recombinant CAIP polypeptide comprising culturing a cell transfected with a nucleic acid which encodes a CAIP polypeptide and isolating said CAIP polypeptide.
A method of evaluating the effect of the expression or misexpression of a CAIP gene, on any of a parameter related to signal transduction or lymphocyte proliferation, or IL-2 production comprising:
- providing a transgenic animal having a CAIP transgene;
- contacting the animal with an agent;
- and evaluating the effect of the transgene on the parameter related to signal transduction or lymphocyte proliferation or IL-2 production.
A purified preparation of cells which misexpress a CAIP gene.
A method of determining if a subject mammal is at risk for a disorder related to, a lesion in a CAIP gene or the misexpression of a CAIP gene, comprising detecting, in a tissue of the subject, the presence or absence of a mutation of a CAIP gene.
A method of determining if a subject mammal is at risk for a disorder related to a CAIP gene, comprising detecting, in a tissue of the subject, a non-wild type level of a CAIP RNA or polypeptide.
A method of evaluating a compound for the ability to interact with a CAIP polypeptide comprising:
- contacting the compound with the CAIP polypeptide;
- and evaluating ability of the compound to interact with the CAIP polypeptide.
A method of evaluating a fragment or analog of a CAIP polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:2, for the ability to bind a second compound comprising:
- contacting the CAIP polypeptide with the second compound;
- and evaluating the ability of the CAIP polypeptide to form a complex with the second compound.
A method for evaluating a compound for the ability to modulate an interaction of a CAIP polypeptide, with a second polypeptide, comprising:
- (i) combining the second polypeptide, a CAIP polypeptide, and a compound under conditions wherein in the absence of the compound, the second polypeptide, and the CAIP polypeptide, are able to interact;
- and (ii) detecting the interaction, a change in the interaction in the presence of a compound (relative to what is seen in the absence of the compound) being indicative of a modulation.
A method for evaluating a treatment comprising contacting the compound with a cell, or a cell free system, which includes a reporter gene functionally linked to a CAIP regulatory sequence, and detecting the modulation of the expression of the reporter gene.
