Abstract
A video reproducing method and apparatus includes reproducing at least still pictures encoded by a first encoding method and first pictures that have pixels smaller than the still pictures from a recording medium. The recording medium has the still pictures, the first pictures, moving pictures encoded by a second encoding method, and second pictures corresponding to the moving pictures that have pixels smaller than the moving pictures recorded thereon. A plurality of the reproduced first pictures are outputted and the still pictures corresponding to selected first pictures are outputted.
Claims8
A video reproducing method, comprising the steps of:
- reproducing at least still pictures encoded by a first encoding method and first pictures that have pixels smaller than said still pictures from a recording medium, wherein said still pictures, said first pictures, moving pictures encoded by a second encoding method, and second pictures corresponding to said moving pictures that have pixels smaller than said moving pictures are recorded on the recording medium;
- outputting a plurality of said reproduced first pictures;
- and
- outputting said still pictures corresponding to selected first pictures.
A video reproducing method, comprising the steps of:
- reproducing at least still pictures encoded by first encoding method and a first picture that have pixels smaller than said still pictures from a recording medium, wherein said still pictures, said first pictures, moving pictures encoded by a second encoding method, and second pictures corresponding to said moving pictures that have pixels smaller than said moving pictures are recorded on the recording medium;
- displaying a plurality of said reproduced first pictures;
- and
- displaying said still pictures corresponding to selected first pictures.
A video reproducing apparatus, comprising:
- reproducing means for reproducing at least still pictures encoded by a first encoding method and first pictures that have pixels smaller than said still pictures from a recording medium, wherein said still pictures, said first pictures, moving pictures encoded by a second encoding method, and second pictures corresponding to said moving pictures that have pixels smaller than said moving pictures are recorded on the recording medium;
- first outputting means for outputting a plurality of said reproduced first pictures;
- and
- second outputting means for outputting said still pictures corresponding to selected first pictures.
A video reproducing apparatus, comprising:
- reproducing means for reproducing at least still pictures encoded by a first encoding method and first pictures that have pixels smaller than said still pictures from a recording medium, wherein said still pictures, said first pictures, moving pictures encoded by a second encoding method, and second pictures corresponding to said moving pictures that have pixels smaller than said moving pictures are recorded on the recording medium;
- and
- displaying means for displaying at least one of said moving pictures, said still pictures, and said first and second pictures;
- wherein said displaying means displays a plurality of said reproduced first pictures and wherein said displaying means displays said still pictures corresponding to selected first pictures.
