Abstract
Short-pulse Raman laser is used to perform precision working of a substance without causing thermal effects on it or examine the interior of the skin or process the interior of a transparent material such as glass. By typically choosing a suitable Raman medium to be illuminated with a pump laser, the short-pulse Raman laser can have a wavelength that matches the wavelength of absorption by the substance of interest.
Claims9
A method of processing a substance with short-pulse laser light in which either one of the following three characteristics, spatial light convergence due to high-quality space characteristic, temporal light convergence due to a short-pulse laser of the sub-pico to pico second order, and light absorbing characteristic due to an absorption wavelength matching the optical absorption wavelength characteristic of a substance to be processed, or these characteristics in combination are utilized to achieve high-density concentration of light on the substance to be processed, thereby processing the substance at higher speed than that of propagation of thermal effects occurring in the substance.
