Octagon shaped stackable flexible intermediate bulk container and method of manufacture

A stackable octagon shaped bulk bag comprising:

• a single layer octagonally shaped side wall comprising eight vertically disposed side wall portions;
• eight vertically disposed stiffening panels each aligned with one of the side wall portions;
• a bottom wall extending between and connected to the bottom edges of each of the side wall portions;
• and
• at least two horizontally disposed belly bands each extending around the entire periphery of the side wall and secured thereto for reinforcing the side wall.

An octagon shaped bulk bag comprising:

• eight side wall portions each having spaced apart substantially parallel top and bottom edges and spaced apart substantially parallel side edges;
• the eight side wall portions being characterized by substantially identical length and width dimensions;
• the eight side wall portions being disposed in an octagonal array;
• eight substantially identical stiffening panels each aligned with one of one of the side wall portions;
• and
• a bottom wall extending between and connected to the bottom edges of each of the side wall portions;
• and
• a plurality of belly bands each extending perpendicularly to the side wall portions and the stiffening panels for reinforcing the side wall portions.
