Abstract
The present invention relates to a new type of module in which the floor of the module is integral with the ceiling placement upon the module below it. This invention also provides utilization of temperature top protection a module during shipment. This invention also relates to a construction method where the stabilizing structure for the building including stairs and hallways constructed first, and the module are constructed therein.
Claims20
In a construction system for a structure, the structure being formed of manufactured housing units, the construction system including plumbing, electrical and structural infrastructures for the structure, an improvement to the construction system comprising manufactured housing units that are approximately at least majority-finished at a manufacturing site distant the building site of the structure, the units being transported as approximately at least majority-finished from the manufacturing site to the building site and assembled together to form the structure.
A method of constructing an at least three story structure at a building site comprising the following steps:
- (a) constructing units that are at least majority-finished;
- (b) transporting the units to the building site;
- and
- (c) assembling the units together to form the structure.
A method of constructing an at least three story structure at a building site from units comprising the following steps:
- (a) constructing units at a manufacturing site that are at least majority-finished, the units having a floor/ceiling assembly and a load-bearing assembly to transfer at least a majority of the loads of the structure, thus freeing walls of the units from such load transfer, enabling walls of the units to be approximately at least majority-finished at the manufacturing site;
- (b) constructing a stabilization assembly at the building site, the stabilization assembly providing a stable construction assembly to which the units can be attached during construction of the structure;
- (c) transporting the units from the manufacturing site to the building site;
- and
- (d) assembling the units to the stabilization assembly to form the structure.
