Abstract
The present invention relates to supported catalysts which are composed of titanium oxide hydrates coated with nanoscale gold particles. The catalysts of the present invention have increased activity over known catalysts.
Claims8
A process for the oxidation of an unsaturated hydrocarbon in the gas phase in the presence of a hydrogen/oxygen mixture on a catalyst coated with gold particles, characterized in that a calcined catalyst which has been prepared from optionally doped titanium oxide hydrate and is coated with nanoscale gold particles is employed.
A supported catalyst coated with gold particles for the oxidation of unsaturated hydrocarbons, obtainable by a procedure in which a titanium oxide hydrate, which optionally contains sulfate, is coated with nanoscale gold particles in an amount of 0.05 to 10 wt. %, based on the support substance, by the “deposition-precipitation” method, and then washed, dried and calcined.
