Abstract
A synchronization signal used to synchronize base stations in a mobile radio telecommunication system having a first sequence followed by a second sequence, the first and second sequences being polyphase complementary sequences configured such that when the synchronization signal is correlated with a replica of the first sequence and a replica of the second sequence, and the correlation results are added exemplary synchronization results are obtained.
Claims13
A synchronization signal comprising:
- a first polyphase sequence of length L;
- and
- a second complementary polyphase sequence of length L following said first polyphase sequence, said second polyphase sequence separated from said first polyphase sequence by a separation interval of length less than L.
A synchronization signal comprising:
- a first sequence comprising a first Golay code of length L and a first periodic extension of length less than L of the first Golay code;
- and
- a second sequence following said first sequence and comprising a second Golay code of length L, complementary to the first Golay code, and a periodic extension of length less than L of the second Golay code.
A synchronisation signal used for synchronising base stations in a radio telecommunication system, comprising:
- a first extended sequence followed by a second extended sequence,
- said first extended sequence comprising a first sequence and a truncated portion of said first sequence,
- said second extended sequence comprising a second sequence and a truncated portion of said second sequence, and
- said first and second sequences being complementary such that when said synchronisation signal is correlated with a replica of said first sequence and a replica of said second sequence to produce first and second correlation results, a sum of the first and second correlation results produces a single Dirac peak isolated in a time window.
