Abstract
The present invention encompasses a method for identifying ecdysone receptor (EcR) ligands. The method is carried out by: (i) providing an extract derived from a transformed yeast cell, wherein the extract comprises (a) EcR or a functional derivative thereof; and (b) an EcR binding partner or a functional derivative thereof; (ii) measuring specific binding to the extract of an authentic EcR ligand, in the absence and presence of a test compound; and (iii) identifying as an EcR ligand a test compound that reduces the specific binding of the authentic EcR ligand to the extract.
Claims7
A method for identifying ecdysone receptor (EcR) ligands, said method comprising:
- (i) providing an extract derived from a transformed yeast cell, wherein said extract comprises
- (a) EcR or a functional derivative thereof;
- and
- (b) an EcR binding partner or a functional derivative thereof;
- and
- (ii) measuring specific binding to said extract of an authentic EcR ligand, in the absence and presence of a test compound.
