Abstract
In the case of a quiet discharge lamp, support elements for supporting a top plate are provided, by comparison with a base plate, in larger numbers and in an alternating arrangement with individual discharge structures.
Claims20
A discharge lamp comprising a base plate, a top plate for the light exit, which is at least partially transparent, a discharge space between the base plate and the top plate, for holding a discharge medium, an electrode set for producing dielectrically impeded, individual localized discharge regions in the discharge medium, a dielectric layer between at least one part of the electrode set and the discharge medium, and a multiplicity of support elements which produce a connection between the base plate and the top plate, wherein, apart from those at the edges of the discharge space, the individual discharge regions are surrounded by in each case substantially identical patterns of support elements.
A display device having a discharge lamp as claimed in one of the preceding claims, which serves for backlighting the display device.
