Abstract
A ceramic network for endodontic, orthodontic or restorative materials infused with a monomer, glass or metal alloy. After infusion of the monomer, glass or metal alloy, the monomer, glass or metal alloy is treated to form with the ceramic network an interpenetrating network of improved wear, resistance and flexibility.
Claims10
A process for producing a ceramic network material comprising the steps of:
- pressing a dry powder in a mold to form a molded material;
- firing said molded material to form a ceramic, open pore network;
- infusing said ceramic network with a silane mixture;
- and
- infusing a monomer to at least a portion of said ceramic network in a vacuum infusing chamber.
An endondotic, orthodontic, or implant device produced by a process consisting of isopressing a dry powder in a mold, firing said molded material to form a ceramic, open pore network, and infusing a monomer to at least a portion of said ceramic network in a vacuum infusing chamber.
A process for preparing a direct filling material including:
- milling a resin infused block to produce a powder;
- coating said powder with a silane mixture;
- and
- mixing the powder with a light or heat curing resin to produce a paste.
