Abstract
A method and system of adapting heart rate in cardiac tissue based on two types of sensed information is provided. A pulse is transmitted to the cardiac tissue. An activity signal is received. A first interval signal is also received and the pacing rate is adapted based on the first interval signal. A second interval signal is then received and the adapted pacing rate is verified using the second interval signal.
Claims54
A method of adapting a pacing rate of a cardiac pacing system, comprising:
- transmitting a pulse to cardiac tissue at a pacing rate;
- receiving an activity signal;
- receiving a first interval signal;
- adapting the pacing rate based on the first interval signal;
- receiving a second interval signal;
- and
- verifying the adapted pacing rate based on the second signal.
An implantable medical device comprising:
- a processor;
- a controller operably connected to the processor;
- at least one sensor operably connected to the controller for receiving an activity signal;
- a sensor operably connected to the controller for receiving at least one interval signal;
- wherein
- a pacing rate of the device is adapted based on the activity signal and an atrio-ventricular conduction time determined from the interval signal.
An implantable medical device comprising:
- a processor;
- a controller operably connected to the processor;
- at least one activity sensor operably connected to the controller for receiving an activity signal;
- a first interval sensor operably connected to the controller for receiving a first interval signal;
- and
- a second interval sensor operably connected to the controller for receiving a second interval signal;
- and
- wherein
- a pacing rate of the device is adapted based on the activity signal and the first interval signal and the adapted pacing rate is verified based on the second interval signal.
An implantable medical system, comprising:
- means for transmitting a pulse to cardiac tissue at a pacing rate;
- means for receiving an activity signal;
- means for receiving a first interval signal;
- means for adapting the pacing rate based on the first interval signal;
- means for receiving a second interval signal;
- and
- means for verifying the adapted pacing rate based on the second signal.
A computer usable medium including a program for adapting a pacing rate of a cardiac pacing system, comprising:
- computer program code that transmits a pulse to cardiac tissue at a pacing rate;
- computer program code that receives an activity signal;
- computer program code that receives a first interval signal;
- computer program code that adapts the pacing rate based on the first interval signal;
- computer program code that receives a second interval signal;
- and
- computer program code that verifies the adapted pacing rate based on the second signal.
