Abstract
Diaryl ether compounds useful in the control of weeds are described. An exemplary compound is represented by the general formula (I): 1 In this formula Q is represented by Q1 2 X and Y represent a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, cyano group, nitro group or (C1-6) haloalkyl group; R1 is halogen; R2 and R3 represent a hydrogen atom, a (C1-6)alkyl group or a (C1-6)haloalkyl group. Methods of making the compounds are also described.
Claims29
A compound represented by the formula (I) or its salts:
- 35
- wherein
- X, Y are independently hydrogen, halogen, cyano, nitro, or (C1-6)haloalkyl;
- Z is oxygen or sulfur;
- Q is selected from
- 36
- R1 is halogen;
- R2, R3, R4 and R5 are independently hydrogen, (C6)allkyl, or (C1-6)haloalkyl;
- When R3 and R5 are taken together with the atoms to which they are attached, they represent a four to seven membered substituted or unsubstituted ring optionally interrupted by O, S(O), or N—R4, and optionally substituted with one to three (Cl)alkyl groups or one or more halogen atoms;
- R6 is hydrogen, (C1-6)alkyl, (C2-6)alkenyl, (C2-6)alkynyl, (Cio6)haloalkyl, (C2-6)haloalkenyl, (C2-6)haloalkynyl, (C1-6)cyanoalkyl, (C1-6)alkoxy-(C1-6)alkyl, or (C1-6)alkylthio-(Cl)alkyl;
- A1 and A2 are independently oxygen or sulfur;
- B is CH or N;
- R7 and R8 are each independently hydrogen, (C1-6)alkyl optionally substituted with one or more halogen atoms, or (C3-C6)cycloalkyl optionally substituted with one or more halogen atoms, and when R7 and R8 are taken together with the atoms to which they are attached, they represent a four to seven membered substituted or unsubstituted ring optionally interrupted by O, S(O)0 or N—R4, and optionally substituted with one to three (C1-6)alkyl group or one or more halogen atoms;
- n is an integer of 0, 1 or 2.
- R9 and R10 are hydrogen, (C1-6)alkyl, acyl, or (C1-6)alkylsulfonyl or R9 and R10 may form a ring consisting of polymethylene, (CH2)m groups, where m is an integer of 2, 3, 4 or 5, together with the nitrogen atom of NR9R10, which may or may not have a (C1-6)alkyl substituent
- Ar is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl ring;
- When Q is Q3 or Q6, substituted phenyl is excluded.
A compound represented by the formula or its salt:
