Abstract
A toner for electrostatic image development in which the weight concentration of polar-solvent-soluble material is 1000 μg or less, based on the toner, and an image forming method comprising a step of forming a toner image by developing a latent electrostatic image by using the toner for electrostatic image development.
Claims30
A toner for developing a latent electrostatic image to a toner image, comprising:
- a binder resin and a coloring agent, with the total amount of a polar-solvent-soluble material contained in said toner being 1000 μg or less with respect to 1 g of said toner.
A set of at least three color toners for developing a latent electrostatic image to a multi-color image, each color toner comprising a binder resin and a coloring agent, with the total amount of a polar-solvent-soluble material contained in each of said color toners being 1000 μg or less with respect to 1 g of each of said color toner;
- and the amount of said polar-solvent-soluble material in at least one of said color toners being different from the amount of said polar-solvent-soluble material of any of said other color toners by an amount of 300 μg or less with respect to 1 g of any of said other color toners
A resin for binder resin contained in a toner for developing electrostatic images, wherein the resin has an epoxy resin portion and a polyalkylene group-containing portion at least in a main chain.
A method for manufacturing a resin for binder resin contained in a toner for developing electrostatic images and having an epoxy resin portion and a polyalkylene group-containing portion at least in the main chain, comprising the steps of:
- adding water at any time before the beginning of synthesis reaction to the end thereof;
- bubbling a liquid containing said water under reduced pressure, and
- evaporating the liquid containing said water
A master batch pigment for a toner for developing electrostatic images, wherein a pigment is dispersed in a resin for a toner having an epoxy resin portion and a polyalkylene group-containing portion at least in the main chain.
A method for manufacturing a master batch pigment for a toner suitable for developing electrostatic images containing a dry powder pigment dispersed in a resin for a toner having epoxy resin portion and a polyalkylene group-containing portion at least in the main chain, comprising the steps of:
- preparing a mixture of said dry powder pigment and a resin for developing electrostatic images and the water, and
- heating and kneading said mixture to remove said water.
An electrostatic image developer comprising a toner for developing electrostatic images comprising a binder resin and a coloring agent, with the total amount of a polar-solvent-soluble material contained in said toner being 1000 μg or less with respect to 1 g of said toner.
A method for forming an image, comprising the steps of
- forming a latent electrostatic image on a latent electrostatic image bearing member;
- and
- developing said latent electrostatic image to form a toner image with an electrostatic image developer provided in a developing apparatus comprising a binder resin and a coloring agent and contains polar-solvent-soluble material at 1000 μg or less with respect to 1 g of said toner
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a latent electrostatic image bearing member;
- latent electrostatic image forming means for forming a latent electrostatic image on said latent electrostatic image bearing member;
- and developing means for forming a toner image by developing said latent electrostatic image, said developing means enclosing an electrostatic image developer comprising at least a binder resin and a coloring agent and contains polar-solvent-soluble material at 1000 μg or less with respect to 1 g of said toner.
