An intumescent arrangement and an associated method of protecting construction materials from the effects of heat and fire is disclosed.

An intumescent arrangement, comprising:
- an insulation foam having a surface;
- and
- an intumescent substance disposed on said surface of said insulation foam.
A method of protecting a construction material, comprising:
- (a) disposing an intumescent substance upon a surface of an insulation foam.
An intumescent arrangement, comprising:
- a door having a surface;
- and
- an intumescent substance disposed on said surface of said door.
A method of protecting a construction material, comprising:
- (a) disposing an intumescent substance upon a surface of a door.
An intumescent arrangement, comprising:
- an insulation foam which includes polyurethane foam, said insulation foam having a surface;
- and
- an intumescent substance disposed on said surface of said insulation foam.
