Abstract
An information recording medium includes a first area (DA2) for storing picture data for forming a plurality of pictures, a second area (DA21) which is included in the first area and stores control data of the picture data, and a third area (INFO1) which is included in the second area and stores specifying data for specifying the storage position of representative picture data for forming a representative picture in the plurality of pictures.
Claims4
An information reproducing method for reproducing representative picture recorded on an information recording disc, wherein the information recording disc includes at least a first area, a second area, a third area, a fourth area, and a fifth area in this order, said first area is provided for video manager information, said second area is provided for a movie AV file information table, said third area is provided for a still picture AV file information table, said fourth area is provided for a plurality of program chain information, and said fifth area is provided for an audio or video file that includes an object, said object includes object units that are included in cells, said object units each include at least one of a video pack in which video data is recorded and an audio pack in which audio data is recorded, said video manager information includes disc representative picture information, and said plurality of program chain information designates respective cell reproduction orders, said cells represent portions of the object, said disc representative picture information includes information regarding a program chain number, a cell number, and a picture point as a presentation time of a picture representing recording contents of the disc in the object unit, and information regarding a time when the disc representative picture was made, and said disc representative picture is any picture included in the object, the information reproducing method comprising:
- a first step of reading the video manager information in the first area, referring to the disc representative picture information, and determining a position of the disc representative picture in the audio file or video file;
- a second step of reading the disc representative picture based on the position determined by the first reading step;
- and
- a third step of decoding the disc representative picture read by the second reading step.
An information reproducing apparatus for reproducing representative picture recorded on an information recording disc, wherein the information recording disc includes at least a first area, a second area, a third area, a fourth area, and a fifth area in this order, said first area is provided for video manager information, said second area is provided for a movie AV file information table, said third area is provided for a still picture AV file information table, said fourth area is provided for a plurality of program chain information, and said fifth area is provided for an audio or video file that includes an object, said object includes object units that are included in cells, said object units each include at least one of a video pack in which video data is recorded and an audio pack in which audio data is recorded, said video manager information includes disc representative picture information, and said plurality of program chain information designates respective cell reproduction orders, said cells represent portions of the object, said disc representative picture information includes information regarding a program chain number, a cell number, and a picture point as a presentation time of a picture representing recording contents of the disc in the object unit and information regarding a time when the disc representative picture was made, and said disc representative picture is any picture included in the object, the information reproducing apparatus comprising:
- first means for reading the video manager information in the first area, referring to the disc representative picture information, and determining a portion of the disc representative picture in the audio file or video file;
- second means for reading the disc representative picture based on the position determined by the first means;
- and
- third means for decoding the disc representative picture read by the second means.
An information recording method for recording data on an information recording disc that includes at least a first area in which video manager information is stored, a second area in which a movie AV file information table is stored, a third area in which a still picture AV file information table is stored, a fourth area in which a plurality of program chain information is stored, and a fifth area in which an audio or video file is stored, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth areas being arranged in this order, the audio or video file storing audio or video information, the information recording method comprising:
- recording at least one object in the audio or video file in the fifth area, wherein said object includes object units that are included in cells, and said object units each include at least one of a video pack in which video data is recorded and an audio pack in which audio data is recorded;
- recording a movie AV file information table in the second area;
- recording a still picture AV file information table in the third area;
- recording a plurality of program chain information in the fourth area, said plurality of program chain information designating respective cell reproduction orders, said cells representing portions of the object;
- and
- recording disc representative picture information for one disc representative picture in said first area, the disc representative picture information including information regarding a program chain number, a program number, a cell number, and a picture point as a presentation time of a picture representing recording contents of the disc in the object unit, and information regarding a time when the disc representative picture was made, the disc representatives picture being any picture included in the object.
