Abstract
A metal flat gasket is provided that includes at least one sealing plate on which a bead and a deformation limiter for the bead are arranged around at least one through opening. The deformation limiter comprises a thickened part produced by upsetting the edge of the sealing plate in the region of the through opening. The thickness of the deformation limiter is substantially uniform over its entire length.

Metal flat gasket, containing at least one sealing plate on which a bead and a deformation limiter (stopper) for the bead which is located on the gasket edge are arranged around at least one through-opening, wherein the stopper is realized in the form of a thickened part produced by upsetting the edge of the sealing plate in the region of the through-opening, characterized by the fact that the thickness of the stopper (4) is essentially uniform over its entire length, and by the fact that deformations produced with a shaping tool are arranged in the thickened part.
